6 Advantages of SolaX Microinverters

Microinverters have emerged as a strong alternative to traditional string inverters, optimizing photovoltaic installations for both residential and industrial use. Here are five key advantages:

  • 1. Higher Energy Production – Unlike string inverters, where one underperforming panel affects the whole system (if the optimizers are not installed), microinverters connect individually to each panel.

This ensures maximum efficiency, even in shaded or dirty conditions, and allows earlier startup and later shutdown, maximizing energy output.
  • 2. Enhanced Safety – Microinverters operate at lower voltages, significantly reducing the risk of electrical hazards and improving overall system safety.
  • 3. Greater Flexibility – They support panels installed at different angles and orientations, making them ideal for irregular rooftops or varied surfaces. This also simplifies future system expansion without major configuration changes.
  • 4. Improved Monitoring – Unlike string inverters, which track performance as a whole, microinverters allow real-time monitoring of each panel individually. This helps detect and fix issues quickly, ensuring optimal efficiency.
  • 5. Easier Scalability – Expanding a system is straightforward—simply add new panels without modifying the existing setup, making microinverters a future-proof investment.
  • 6. Small balcony installation – Great solution for small balcony installations with using only two PV modules with simple installation and connection to the grid.

Multiple installation of Microinverters

Multiple installation of more X1-Micro inverters on one phase requires connections to the AC side with the Trunk connector.

AC Trunk cable is used for the connection between each trunk connectors. There are available extensions (including cables and connectors) for AC and DC wiring if necessary as well as safe end cap to close the circuit.

Balcony installation Plug & Play

Simple balcony installation requires only X1-Micro with the Plug and Play cable.

The cable lenght is 5m suitable for  most of the installations and the Microinverter is connected to the grid via a standard Schuko plug.
