New standards for photovoltaic modules in 2023?
If we decide to purchase a photovoltaic power plant in 2023, each of us will certainly have a question, what type of PV panel, i.e., what performance can I expect in the next year? What will be the new standard?
DIRECTION OF PV PANEL DEVELOPMENT
Coming with the biggest trend in the purchase of photovoltaic modules, the company Longi, as one of the world's largest manufacturers with a total production capacity of more than 70 GW, shapes the fundamental direction of the development of PV modules and bets on cell sizes of 182 mm.
In the case of Longi, the main product lines now consist of 54 half-cell PV panels with a power of 415W or 132 half-cell PV modules with a higher power of 505W. This trend of increasing power, together with the increasing sizes of PV panels, will soon be followed by other manufacturers, both for residential and commercial applications, and therefore you should already count on these sizes when designing your photovoltaic power plant. The given types of PV modules will dominate the market in 2023 and their availability can be assumed until the end of the year.
PV PANEL CELL SIZES
PV modules with a cell size of 166mm are currently on the decline, and PV panels with a cell size of 210mm are very slowly coming to the forefront of new applications due to the fragile structure and worse handling of the large PV panel. The medium cell size of 182mm, which offers an excellent size x performance ratio, will become the new standard for most installations in 2023.
