The 2nd generation SolaX intelligent charging station
As the popularity of electric vehicles grows, so does our need to charge our electric cars. One of the many solutions is to charge the electric car at commercial charging stations - but this requires planning and also reserving the time necessary for charging, and not everyone is willing to undergo this process. Another solution could be to charge the electric car from the classic 230V electrical distribution network, where the charging time can reach up to 2 days depending on the type of electric car, so a reasonable solution seems to be the purchase of your own home wallbox.
SOLAX INTELLIGENT CHARGING STATION
The company SolaX, which is the number one in hybrid inverters, is also coming to the market with a new series of intelligent charging stations called EV charger G2. This intelligent charging station meets the NZÚ subsidy condition and is a great solution for your home. In combination with hybrid inverters of the SolaX brand, you will make the most of all its smart functions and thus also reduce charging costs, but you can also purchase this smart charging station separately.
SOLAX G2 EV CHARGER VARIANTS
We can imagine the basic division of SolaX EV chargers as follows: single-phase with a maximum power of 7.2 kW and three-phase with a maximum power of 11 or 22 kW. You can purchase all these charging stations both in the version with a socket and also with a cable. Another optional item is the LCD display, on which you can see all basic information, such as the selected charging mode, current charging power or charging status.
On this wallbox, you will appreciate a wide operating temperature of -20 ~ +50℃, a high level of protection IP 54, and together with the compact dimensions of 370x249x142mm (h x w x d), this intelligent charging station is perfect for installation both indoors and outdoors on the facade of the house or any column. Another great feature is the integrated RFID reader, which you can use to secure your wallbox against unauthorized third-party charging.
SOLAX CHARGING MODES
Green mode
- The first of them is GREEN – this mode ensures charging of the electric car exclusively from solar panels with a minimum output of 6A and thus helps to reduce costs to a minimum. However, the disadvantage of this charging mode may be that if there is a lack of current power, your FVE, EV charger does not charge.
Eco mode
- However, this small shortcoming is solved by the second ECO (ecological) charging mode, which has 5 charging levels (6, 10, 16, 20 and 25A) and charges with the minimum charging current selected by you. Preferably, this energy is taken from the photovoltaic panels, but if the power of your PV plant is insufficient, the energy is taken from the grid.
Fast mode
- The third charging mode is FAST – you can use this charging mode if you want to charge your electric car in the shortest possible time and it does not matter where the energy is taken from – the EV charger charges with the maximum available current of 16/32A (depending on the model).
THREE MORE USEFUL CHARGING MODES FUNCTIONS
Dynamic power control
- As already mentioned in the beginning of this article, this function is necessary to fulfill the NZÚ subsidy and ensures that the maximum consumption of electricity in the relevant connection point for the agreed input is not exceeded. The function is superior to charging modes and is evaluated in real time so that this condition is always ensured.
Timer boost (time acceleration)
- By choosing this function, you can set the time for which the charger should charge at the maximum rated power and is suitable, for example, at a time of low tariff.
Smart boost (smart acceleration)
- When choosing this function, you also enter the amount of energy you want to charge and the time for which this energy should be charged. EV charger then automatically calculates the amount of recharged energy for the specified time. This energy is preferably taken from the PV, if, but the PV output is insufficient, the EV charger begins to use energy from the off-take network.
All these charging modes and functions can be conveniently monitored and also set on your smartphone or on the Solax cloud after product registration.
In conclusion, by combining photovoltaics and a smart charging station of the SolaX brand, you can achieve today the most efficient and economical option for charging your electric car, which is now in great demand and represents a new green future.
